Manchester United’s physiotherapists have faced criticism for overlooking a potentially serious hamstring injury in Casemiro

During the process of evaluating Casemiro’s health in preparation for Manchester United’s match against Liverpool last weekend, the physiotherapists at Manchester United are being accused of overlooking a hamstring injury that might have been significant.

Due to the problem, the midfielder was unable to participate in the FA Cup quarterfinal drama that took place over the weekend, which ended with a score of 4-3. Since then, he has withdrawn from the Brazil team that will be playing England and Spain this week.

Due to the fact that Erik ten Hag’s hand was forced, Scott McTominay and Kobbie Mainoo were given the opportunity to start in a midfield two formation at Old Trafford.

It is reported that Casemiro complained about soreness in his hamstring the day before their matchup with their fierce rivals. This is a problem that has already prevented him from playing for three months this season and has nearly necessitated surgery.

In spite of this, the medical staff of Manchester United determined that he was healthy enough to play against Liverpool, stating that they could not identify any major issues during the inspection.

Trivela, a Brazilian news agency, asserts that Casemiro was dissatisfied with this verdict and flew to Barcelona to see with his own personal physician in order to get a second opinion.

Casemiro was informed by his physician that he had incurred a small injury, and that it may become a significant problem if he tried to play through it. It was suggested that he should sit out the next several weeks in order to prevent worsening the injury and turning it into a more severe problem than it is at the moment.

According to the club, Casemiro had a “muscle injury” and ended up being a late casualty from the team that played Liverpool. The club later confirmed that the player had suffered the injury.

After suffering an ankle injury in October, Casemiro made his comeback for just forty-five minutes during their EFL Cup loss at home to Newcastle United. During that match, he suffered a major hamstring injury, which ultimately led to the team’s loss by a score of three goals.

Because of this, the Brazilian would be unable to play from the beginning of November until the middle of January, as he would not be able to return to action until the FA Cup match that was played at Newport County.

Even though Casemiro has participated in the nine games that have taken place since then, there are still issues over the severity of this most recent ailment and whether or not it is a recurrence of an earlier injury.

At the moment, the 32-year-old player is in a position to make a comeback when Manchester United come back into action against Brentford on March 30. The three-week break is expected to provide sufficient time for the problem to be resolved.
