It is anticipated that the goalie will need two to three months to heal from his most recent injury. As a result, he will now be seeking to return to action during the next season or the following year.

Courtois has been a member of Real Madrid since the year 2018, during which time he has participated in 230 matches across all competitions for the club. Furthermore, he has made 49 appearances during the 2022–23 season.

While playing at Bernabeu, the 31-year-old player has been able to win a number of prestigious tournaments, including the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup, the Club World Cup, the Copa del Rey, two Spanish Super Cups, and two La Liga crowns.

In December, David Alaba sustained an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), and he will also be out for the remainder of the season. On the other hand, Eder Militao, who suffered his ACL injury in August, is expected to return after the international break.

As a result of Courtois’s absence, Andriy Lunin is anticipated to continue maintaining his position as the number one goalkeeper for the duration of the season.

Earlier in the season, Lunin had been sharing the goalkeeping duties with Kepa Arrizabalaga, who was on loan to Chelsea. However, the Ukraine international has now established himself as the team’s first option between the sticks.

It is quite improbable that Kepa would make a permanent move to Real Madrid this summer. Furthermore, it is anticipated that the Spaniard will return to his original club after the conclusion of the current season.
