Arsenal transfer: After turning down Benzema’s move, the Gunners board want to recruit a different January acquisition.

It has been reported that Arsenal has passed down the opportunity to capture Karim Benzema during the January transfer window because they have other ideas.

With no new players arriving or leaving the Emirates Stadium in January, the Gunners have been very quiet throughout the transfer season thus far.

The former striker for Real Madrid, Karim Benzema, is among the most recent names to be mentioned in the many reports constantly circulating about players joining Arsenal.

Several former players and commentators have maintained that if Arsenal wants to have any chance of winning the Premier League this year, they still need to get a striker.

Additionally, “Benzema was offered to Arsenal earlier this month.” The Ballon d’Or winner for 2022 is eager to depart Saudi Arabia this month.

Arsenal claims to have “considered moving for a versatile defender before next week’s deadline and remain open to doing so” after turning down the chance to sign the former France international.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provides the most recent information on Benzema’s future at Al-Ittihad and Arsenal’s alleged interest.

“Keep an eye on Karim Benzema in the final days of the January transfer window; there is nothing concrete or serious with Arsenal at the moment, but if that changes, I will let you know,” Romano said in his Caught Offside blog.

According to what I know about his circumstances at Al Ittihad right now, tensions are still high, and further meetings between the player’s close associates and Al Ittihad have been planned in an attempt to find a resolution.

In recent days, Benzema went back to training, but alone with the group. While things are still tight, he is training alone. For obvious reasons, European teams find it impossible to recruit Benzema, despite his offer. It won’t be possible unless Benzema agrees to a drastic cut in his pay; otherwise, things will be extremely challenging.

“The Saudi Pro League is prepared to try to find Benzema a solution at another Saudi club because they genuinely want him to stay.” Let’s wait and see how things play out, but it seems that a large offer—possibly too large—will be required from European teams. In any case, the player will always have the last word.

“Benzema may be able to remain in Saudi Arabia since Al Shabab is now searching for a new striker; nevertheless, we’ll have to wait and see how the talks go. Regarding Europe, I’ve heard that John Textor of Lyon is the one who is trying his hardest to sign Benzema. He would really want to see Benzema return to the team since they have a unique and historic connection, but it is difficult because of the high cost.

“It’s a fluid situation, and one of the most prominent names to watch in the coming days is Benzema.”
